The semantics of the canonical commutation relation

چکیده

1.1 This paper is a part of a much broader project which aims to establish, for a typical ’co-ordinate algebra’ A in the sense of non-commutative geometry, or a scheme, a geometric counterpart VA. Here “geometric” should also be understood in some broad but well-defined sense. We believe this is possible in the setting of model theory, where a crucial new experience in generalisation of semantics of algebraic and analytic geometry, and applications of this, has been accumulated in the last 50 years. In fact, we aim to establish a rigorous mathematical duality

Circular Invariance of the Weyl Form of the Canonical Commutation Relation

The Schrr odinger-Weyl representation of the canonical commutation relation is cir-culary invariant in a sense. Here, as a continuation of 5 , we show the converse.

CANONICAL FORMULAS FOR k-POTENT COMMUTATIVE, INTEGRAL, RESIDUATED LATTICES

Canonical formulas are a powerful tool for studying intuitionistic and modal logics. Indeed, they provide a uniform and semantic way of axiomatising all extensions of intuitionistic logic and all modal logics above K4. Although the method originally hinged on the relational semantics of those logics, recently it has been completely recast in algebraic terms. In this new perspective canonical fo...

(Bi)simulations up-to characterise process semantics

We define (bi)simulations up-to a preorder and show how we can use them to provide a coinductive, (bi)simulation-like, characterisation of semantic (equivalences) preorders for processes. In particular, we can apply our results to all the semantics in the linear time-branching time spectrum that are defined by preorders coarser than the ready simulation preorder. The relation between bisimulati...

Exact Discrete Analogs of Canonical Commutation and Uncertainty Relations

An exact discretization of the canonical commutation and corresponding uncertainty relations are suggested. We prove that the canonical commutation relations of discrete quantum mechanics, which is based on standard finite difference, holds for constant wave functions only. In this paper, we use the recently proposed exact discretization of derivatives, which is based on differences that are re...

What Could Have We Been Missing While Pauli's Theorem Was in Force? *

Pauli’s theorem asserts that the canonical commutation relation [T,H] = iI only admits Hilbert space solutions that form a system of imprimitivities on the real line, so that only non-self-adjoint time operators exist in single Hilbert quantum mechanics. This, however, is contrary to the fact that there is a large class of solutions to [T, H] = iI, including self-adjoint time operator solutions...
